Scotiabank in the U.S. Virgin Islands

As Canada’s most international bank, Scotiabank has been operating in the U.S. Virgin Islands since 1963. Today we operate two branches across the territory and offer a complete range of retail and commercial banking services — including online banking and electronic cash management.

Scotiabank opened its first branch in St. Thomas, Market Square on October 7, 1963. Activity in the branches in the U.S. Virgin Islands reflected the economic growth of the country and was heavily centred on the tourist industry. Business continued to grow during the 1970s and 1980s, and so did Scotiabank.

With two branches throughout the territory, Scotiabank offers a complete range of retail and commercial banking, including electronic cash management. The Bank has about 69 employees, plus 15 ATMs.
